However you choose to marry, we are here to help you make the most wonderful memories as well as support you in your relationship.
Yes, we all love a bit of wedding cake and the day itself is always exciting and wonderful. But marriage isn't about one day. It's about a new beginning in your life together. No one goes into marriage expecting it to only last a short time. We want it to last forever and we want our love to continue to grow. In our marriage preparation, the vicar will help you to think about issues that may come up in your future and give you support in talking through the tricky issues. We are also there for you beyond the big day if you need some support. Look out for our regular Marriage Courses to give you space to take stock and give your marriage an MOT
Since the fire which destroyed our beautiful building we are currently unable to offer services at St Mark's, however we would be delighted to offer a blessing either in the hall we are using as a worship space now or even in the vicarage garden.
If you would like to get married in a church there are lots of beautiful churches in the area we can introduce you to. If you already have a relationship with us here and would like our vicar to conduct the service, please get in touch and we will be delighted to try to arrange this.
Much as the Vicar, along with many other Church of England clergy, would love to officiate at the wedding ceremonies of same sex couples, this is currently prevented in Law. However, we would be delighted to celebrate your civil marriage or partnership through the use of the recently commissioned Prayers of Love and Faith (PLF). Please just get in touch and we will arrange a date.
